You may notice some beautiful new photographs on our website. We found a wonderful local photographer, Tailyr Irvine. Here is some information on Tailyr and her work:
Tailyr Irvine is a photographer from the Flathead Reservation in Montana. She is a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and has a passion for photographing life in Indian Country. She is currently studying photojournalism at the University of Montana School of Journalism and minoring in Native American studies. She chose to pursue photojournalism because of the powerful window that photography offers into other people’s lives and perspectives, and of how that window accompanied by a great story can change the world.
Tailyr’s perspective allows her to capture the essence of her subjects in a way that is remarkable for a young photographer. She beautifully and respectfully portrays American Indian culture in a way that we want to be reflected in the work we do in American Indian health.
